Announcing the Keras Community Prize, first edition!

Hi everyone,

We’re excited to announce that we’re launching the Keras Community Prize! For the first edition, submissions are open from November 22 to December 31, 2022. We will award the first prize in early January.

Our theme for this first edition is “best projects using KerasCV StableDiffusion”.

What’s the Keras Community Prize?

It’s a prize awarded to top submissions of Keras-based projects that fit the theme we provide. To submit a project, just drop the link in this thread.

The top project will receive $5k, and two additional projects will receive $2k each. That’s a total of $9k in prizes!

A “project” could be any kind of working codebase that fits our theme:

  • A Colab notebook is eligible.
  • A Kaggle notebook is eligible.
  • A code example is eligible.
  • A GitHub repository is eligible.
  • A HuggingFace repository is eligible.

One condition for eligibility is that your project should be open-source and licensed under the Apache 2.0 license.

We are not looking for anything specific – so surprise us! Originality and creativity will be keys to win.

What’s the winning criteria?

We are looking for projects that demonstrate high standards in terms of:

  • Code quality, especially conciseness, elegance, and readability.
  • Usefulness.
  • Originality and creativity.

The winning projects will be selected by the Keras team. We will provide quick feedback on every project submitted!

What’s the goal of this prize?

We want to reward the most interesting projects created by our developer community (both by highlighting them and by offering a small sum of money) and draw attention to specific new features in the Keras ecosystem.

Note that this is an informal event. It’s also pretty experimental – we want to try out something new and see how it goes
